Please note I require 72 hours notice due to my daughter’s health condition.
Hi! My name is Marya, and I am the owner and baker of Peace, Love & Cheesecakes. In November of 2021 I announced on the Facebook page that I am (finally) pregnant! My husband and I have undergone fertility treatments for many years and have been blessed with a wonderful miracle. Due to the high risk nature of my pregnancy and all the wonderful sickness I’ve faced, I have been slowing down a bit on my cheesecake orders and have started asking my customers for a weeks notice on orders. Usually I ask for a 48 hour notice, but that’s just not been enough time for me as of late.
UPDATE AS OF 6/23/22: On August 15th I will begin accepting orders again but will require a 72 hour notice as our new normal is a lot more to handle than before. I will be straight forward with customers as I spend 2-5 days a month down at the childrens hospital in Columbus and we have multiple therapies a week for my daughter’s condition. If I can fulfill your order in a timely manner I will happily take it but if I can’t make your timeline work I will try to work with you or have to decline the order. As we get more stable and comfortable at home this will get better and I appreciate your patience and understanding.
UPDATE AS OF 6/2/22: on 04/19/22 my daughter was born and rushed to the NICU. On 4/20 they flighted her to a children's hospital, where we’ve remained since. She was diagnosed with a rare genetic mutation which causes developmental epileptic encepholopathy. Because of this, her brain is not allowing her to breathe properly and we needed to get her a tracheostomy and put her on a vent. They believe we will remain in the hospital until the beginning of July, and once we get home we will have adjusting to our new normal before I will be able to accept orders again. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Update: as of right now, we are tentatively planning to induce on April 26th (doctor said there are a handful of things that could make this date sooner but it’s unlikely to be later) so I told my boss today that if we do in fact induce on April 26th, I’ll be making April 22nd my last day of work till after “maternity leave” (I use quotations because my job doesn’t have maternity leave they’ll essentially just put me on a leave of absence and hold my job for me). That being said, I’ve had a ton of people ask me if I’ll be taking cheesecake orders for Easter (April 17) and I have to be real honest, I don’t think it is wise for me to commit to any orders so close to delivering.
1- Today my doctor put me on stricter work restrictions, which means I feel it would be irresponsible to continue to work AND try to bust out a ton of cheesecakes for Easter.
2- As of March 14th I am looking at 3-4 doctors appointments A WEEK until delivery add that to my already busy work schedule and I doubt I will have the time to do a ton of orders as I usually do.
And 3- Babies make their own schedule so I’d hate to commit to an order I’m unable to fulfill for a family gathering due to early arrival.
In the meantime if I continue to get an order here or there I will take them as I am able to handle. I still ask people give me a weeks notice and understand that I may have to respectfully decline an order depending on the flexibility of your schedule. Please keep in mind, I’m doing the best I can to take care of my amazing customers as well as myself and baby during the uncharted territories of my high risk IVF pregnancy.
Thanks so much for your understanding.
I am only able to take so many orders at a time and need plenty of notice due to having a handicapped infant. Please be sure to give me a minimum of 72 hours notice!
